The Beautiful Ordinary

Today I will be leaving the first booklet. This is not the first one I’ve made, just the first one I am leaving. I got this idea from a booklet one of my dearest friends made for me. The hope is that someone will be given something beautiful, and in return, they will leave something beautiful for someone else to find. This project is all about finding beauty in the ordinary, and passing that understanding to other people.

Instructions for making a booklet:

1. Find the pictures that you want to use. You can cut them out of a magazine, you can make collages for each page, you can use your own photos, you can use whatever you want.

2. Glue the pages together, back to back in order you want them to appear in the booklet.

3. Tape the binded edges of all the pages together, then staple. You can staple a piece of ribbon or paper over the tape if you don’t want it to show.

4. Add the quote you want to leave, putting little parts of it on each page.

5. Decorate it however you want. But please put “The Beautiful Ordinary” somewhere on it.

6. Leave these directions inside of the booklet:

“This is for you. Take it with you if you need it, leave it if you don’t. The only think I ask in return is that you make another one to pass it on. You can leave whatever message you want. But please leave these directions.”

7. Leave it for someone to find.
